He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Back To The Heart Of Worship

Exo 32:1-35, 21 And Moses said to Aaron, “What did this people do to you that you have brought so great a sin upon them?” 22 So Aaron said, “Do not let the anger of my lord become hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil”

Moses comes down from the mountain, sent by God to do damage control. The first thing he does is destroy the idol before confronting Aaron his brother the principal person. If Aaron opposed, the idolatry might not have taken place. After Moses confronted him, Aaron shifted the blame to the people instead of taking the responsibility.

Our generation has forgotten the whole reason we were freed from the bondage of sin. Many of our priests (pastors) instead of turning us back to the true worship with Christ as the center of it, they have helped us build golden calf with what we have provided them, things we worship more than we do Yahweh. We are worshiping materialistic things, health and prosperity and all we care about is not so much freed to come and worship the true God but freed to be rushed to the promised land. And since God is not fast enough, let’s find other pragmatic ways to answer our own prayers. Turn back to the gods of the Egyptians. Egypt was successful in prosperity, military, influence etc, the Israelites wanted to tap into that success by trying to serve some of their gods. Some of our churches are fashioned the Egyptian way, borrowing from Egypt to build a church and Christ is not the center of it. We are in danger when the Aarons’ of our day will not stand, unmoved, unshaken for the sake of Christ. May God raise men who are not afraid to call sin for what it is. Men who are bold to stand in public, media, in interviews and speak truth like it is. Men who are not swayed by the voice of people but are faithful to God’s call and are pointing us all who believe to the center of our worship, Christ and Him crucified”.
