The book of Hebrews opens with God’s supreme revelation. And throughout the book it establishes Jesus and His message to be above the prophets, angels, priests etc. Some signs, dreams, acts, audible voices were for a time and a season in history, however they were not rolled out by the Lord as normative means for us to look to.

God has spoken to us consistently by His sufficient sure trusted Word (2Pe 1:19). Jesus as recorded in Heb 10:7 said “… Behold, I have come in the volume of the book it is written of Me to do Your will, O God.’” If we believe the Bible is sufficient, then we must wrestle through the word and prayers to determine if what we see was for a certain people group, for certain time, or a regular pattern extended to us today. Therein we will discover if what we read is PROMISE to ask or a PRINCIPLE to learn and apply by wisdom. Described may be for our learning not prescribed for our living.
