He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Do You See What I See?

2Ki 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw

Elisha earlier discerned the Syrians’ plot against Israel and warned the king. Syrians as a great army therefore surrounded him by night by to capture him. It was like Elisha was surrounded by vicious hungry lions. Elisha knowing their presence still slept through the night peacefully. His servant on the other hand panicked when saw the great army. He had not seen what Elisha saw that those with them were greater than those against them.

The natural eyes perceive of now and it’s limitations, the spiritual eyes perceives of greater, beyond barriers. The natural is limited to its abilities, the spiritual sees past the present. Rather than Elisha be frustrated with his servant for not seeing what he saw, he prayed for his eyes to be opened. This is the best thing you can do for such people paralyzed by the natural is to pray that, “…their eyes of understanding be enlightened” (Eph 1:18).
