He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Faith Truly Honors God

Luk 24:25 And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!”

The disciples had been made aware of the prophesy of the Messiah’s pending death and resurrection. Jesus Himself furthermore made it plain to them before He died. Presently, the news of His resurrection served nothing to strengthen their faith. Jesus therefore reproved them by calling them foolish and slow of heart for not beliving despite all that had been said concerning His crucifixion, death, burial and ressurection.

Heb 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Faith is the sixth sense. It makes us as sure of unseen or future things by taking the divine Word of God and standing on it. To quote Martin Luther, “Without faith God forfeits His glory, wisdom, truth, and mercy in us. The first duty of man is to believe in God and to honor Him with his faith. Faith is truly the height of wisdom, the right kind of righteousness, the only real religion.” Faith truly honors God. And because faith honors God, God counts faith for righteousness.
