Joh 2:7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water”. And they filled them to the brim.
The first miracle Jesus performed here on earth in person was at a wedding in Cana. He was invited as a guest but at some point during the ceremony, the wine ran out. As wine was important for an occasion such as this, Mary being proactive informed her Son. She then instructed the servants to do whatever Jesus said. Jesus first objected for His time had not come but for the love and respect of His earthly mother, he instructed the servants to fill the pots with water (sounded foolish) and they filled them to the brim.
The act of pouring water is significant, it showed how much faith the servants had in Jesus’ ability when they had no prior testimony of any miracles by Him. How much you POUR proves how much you TRUST, 1Pe 5:7 “Casting ALL your care upon Him for He cares for you“. That is faith (trusting ALL to someone’s care) as the servants did. Many miss God’s blessings because they sit to analyze how and what strategy the Lord is going to use rather than obey His instructions to fill and then some. We need to be FAITH-FULL, taking the Lord at His word.
