Jos 1:9 …Be strong and courageous ; …, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
God was with Joseph in Egypt, with Daniel in the lion’s den; with Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego in the fire; with David fleeing from Saul; with Jonah fleeing from His presence. His message to Abraham “dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you.” (Gen 26:3); To Jacob “Return to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you.” (Gen 31:3); To Gideon “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man” (Jud 6:16). The common denominator, “God’s assurance of His presence in the midst of fear and trials”.
He is Emmanuel God with us. Jehovah Shammah, the ever present God. He is present with our spouses, kids even in our absence etc. To Joshua, “…the Lord your Gods is with you wherever you go” His presence is enough for all we need. Therefore do not be discouraged or afraid, He is with you, Isa 43:1-2 “1 …“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you”
