2Pe 1:3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,
Believers often forget that God in His power is bigger than every situation. This can be seen by how often we first try things for ourselves before we approach Him in prayer. The man who understands that God in His power has given us all things for life and godliness will desire to learn and seek what He has in store for him. All that pertain to life and godliness is not for when we get to heaven but for now in preparation for heaven. It is for the present, natural life, and to the continuance and increase of spiritual life.
The reality of this verse is made possible by verse 2. We need not fear, for God has given us all things that are necessary for our salvation. Grace and peace will be multiplied unto us, if only we seek the knowledge of God. A person who has no knowledge of what he has in His bank account will in no way withdraw but continue to live in lack and defeat. Knowledge over feeling is important. 2Ti 1:12 “…for I KNOW whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.” The knowledge of God is key, it unlocks doors to all God has for His children.
