He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Increase Our Faith, Part 1

Luk 17:5 And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.

Faith that works is important as we shall see. The opening vs in Luk 17:1 reads, “Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, …Offenses” is the elephant in the room and “impossible” states that it will come and cannot be ignored. People offend and get offended. Even in this Christmas time a number have been offended especially by family members.

If offended, the call to action is to love, forgive and pray for the offenders. This was a hard message even for the disciples. With this hard message vs. “5 – …the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” This sounds like deflecting from the subject of offenses. On the contrary, what the Master said was impossible to live out without a measure of faith. Don’t we feel deficient and helpless in our walk many times in this area, and only something foreign to us gives us the ability to live it out? He who said it is impossible is He who makes it possible through the power of His gospel that is sufficient.
