He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Living Out What We Profess

Acts 20:34-35, 34 You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me. 35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” (ESV)

Paul’s manner of life was driven by diligence, excellence and hard work. He labored to meet his needs and others, especially the weak in body, and unable to work and help themselves. He let go many times of what he deserved in order that he might not hinder the gospel by being accused of preaching for gain. His life was agreeable to his doctrine, and ornamental to his profession.

Successful leaders lead by example, in fact they are servant leaders. People gravitate towards leaders who live out what they preach. Paul having learned from the Master and Lord Jesus, He who laid down His life to serve, reminded the believers that it is blessed to give than receive, that is the more excellent way. It is an honor to give; an honor is reflected upon the giver. What we profess should be seen in our living.
