He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Marks Of Walking In The Light, Part 1

Eph 5:9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),

Paul provides 3 marks of a person walking in the light or 3 aspects of the Christian character

The fruit of the Spirit is subdivided into 3, #1. in all goodness, #2. Righteousness , and #3. Truth as acceptable to the Lord.

There is no automatic way of displaying these truths, there is work involved, Phi 2:12-15 “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; “ this is not to be confused with works to be saved. These are works that validate your salvation. Paul initially is saying, live out what you are within which is a life of all goodness, righteousness, and truth.

Let’s begin with #1. Life of Goodness. You walk in the light before your spouse by showing goodness which means moral excellence, benevolence in thought, word, and deed. Goodness aligns with kindness, faithfulness. Paul gives us the character of Timothy his son in the faith Php 2:19 “But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, ..20 For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. 21 For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus 22 But you know his proven character.” Can your spouse vouch for you as Paul did for Timothy? The true test is not what people out there think of you but your spouse who lives with you. They see more than others do.
