He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Our God Whom We Serve Is Able

Dan 3:16-18, 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, … 17 If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship”

Three young men resolved to face their fate but not before they proclaimed confidence in God’s ability in response to a king’s threat vs 15 “…And who is the god who will deliver you out of my hands?” They said, the God whom we serve is able and He will “But if not…“, was not questioning God’s ability so as be accused of weak faith but yielding to His will knowing God’s plan for them may be bigger than the current circumstance.

In the face of trials, it is easy to jump ship, not with these 3 young men, they had so grasped the truth of the glorious power and steadfastness of God. It lifted them to a kindred firmness even to the end because the outcome was in God’s hands not the king’s. “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him…” (Job 13:15), that is confidence in God’s ability, that is praise.
