He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Recognize God’s Doing

1Sa 1:20-21, 20 And in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Samuel, for she said, “I have asked for him from the LORD.” 21 The man Elkanah and all his house went up to offer to the LORD the yearly sacrifice and to pay his vow.

In life, we are taught to give credit where credit is due. This is possible where discovery is made of who deserves it. Hannah is now holding her long-awaited son and she credits it not to her prayers, efforts, Eli the priest, or her husband but God. Her husband and all his house return to the temple where the promise was birthed in Hannah’s heart to offer sacrifices of praise as the acknowledgment of God ’s doing. “This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes” (Psa 118:23).

Time will come when you will stand on the very spot where the prayer you offered to God have been answered. God cannot fail, and His gifts are sweetest and safest when they are returned to Him by His children. Mercies in answer to prayer are to be remembered with peculiar expressions of praises, thankfulness, and testimonies. ”I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.” (Psa 89:1). It is good to manage even our worldly affairs in faith; to do common business with reference to the providence and promises of God and turn our blessings into praise and thanksgiving. Point no 6. All credit in praise and thanksgiving returns to God.
