He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

The Heart Of Worship

Mat 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’

Christ in answering Satan calls by his name, something He had not done before. In this temptation, Satan had no scripture to misquote, nevertheless Jesus used all SUFFICIENT word to combat even that which was not misquoted.

Our safeguard against temptation is the word, used by the discernment of a perfectly pure heart for worship. Psa 138:2I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.” With this knowledge, proper application by wisdom is applied to circumstances presented. It is the word that preserves the soul to proper worship and from the wiles of the enemy. Our feelings and emotions can and will fail us, rightly dividing the word of truth will not.

If we seek only the glory of God, then that which presents motives such as power, status, wealth, or our own gratification in the body or mind will be tested and filtered in the light of the word. Jesus was tempted with good things in a bad way, but by the word He was a victor.
