He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

The Impact Of Work Ethics

1Ti 6:1 -2, 1 Let all who are under a yoke as bondservants regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled. 2 Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these things.

The Apostle gives rules for the treatment of the slaves/workers working for unbelieving or believing bosses. If you are employed, it is important for you to render services with excellence in attitude and speech. We must honor and glorify Christ by being respectful and obedient to both Christian and none Christian bosses.

Paul is not only admonishing believers who love their jobs and who they work for but all. Mat 5:16 “…let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Service rendered for the love of God must not be inferior to that rendered from fear of man. When we make it our aim to please God by serving faithfully our employers, God’s name and His teaching in display are honored. If we have this thought that we are working for God, it should influence our attitude and approach to work.
