He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

The Primary Burden Bearer

2Sa 12:16 David therefore sought God on behalf of the child. And David fasted and went in and lay all night on the ground.

Once the prophet delivered the message to David, he returned to his house. And David’s elders upon seeing his drastic move to labor for his son in prayer and fasting became concerned for David but not enough to join him in this labor. David’s burden for his son could not be felt by anyone but himself, especially knowing it was his doing. He took it upon himself to do the heavy lifting, putting his total confidence in God who had in many times come to his rescue.

David proves that faith does not save or grant victory, the object of our faith does and God is. Faith is only as good as to whom you put it in. 2Tim 1:12 “…for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.” Note the ”I’s” in this verse which indicates individuals laying down a foundation of faith in prayer because they are the primary burden bearers. Take the burden to the Lord even if alone.
