Does God Hate Anyone?

Psa 5:5 The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers.”

Psa 11:5 The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.

The universalists believe “God saves everyone”, and that, “He hates the sin, but loves the sinner“; or “God is love, and will not send anyone to hell.” They believe that God’s attribute of love, negates His attribute of wrath. These Bible verses are ignored or chalked up as being from the Old Testament. The left side of the Bible is pitted against the right side of the Bible, The Father against the Son. The Father is seen as wrathful, and Jesus is seen as kind and loving, always carrying a little lamb on His shoulders. Universalists teach that God is so full of love that He simply would never punish sinners by His wrath in Hell even if one lives an unrepentant life of utter rebellion in His sight.

Does God hate anyone? The answer is resounding yes! I would say, anyone who is a universalist, or likened to them, has never read and understood the Scripture, including the New Testament, which does not support their presupposition. The following speaks directly about the return of Christ:

2 Thes 1:7–10, “7 when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels 8 in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 10 when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.”

Solo Deo Gloria: Was there a time in your life when you believed as a universalist? Why do you think many raise one attribute of God and lower others? If there are those that God hates, why are we commanded to evangelize?
