God At Work Behind The Scenes

2Ki 6:8-23, 15 When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” 16 He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw…

Elisha the servant of the Lord was deemed dangerous. And it’s not because he was a warrior or had an army but because he was always one step ahead of the enemies’ plans. Here an army by night was sent to capture him and silence him for good. God showed Elisha, in the Spirit, that the army backing them up was greater than Syrian’s army.

In God’s battle plan, you need spiritual eyes to see beyond the natural. In this you will know that you are not alone in the battlefield, heaven’s eyes are on you and backing you up. Elisha was fully aware before he went to sleep that they would be surrounded all night, yet he still slept peacefully, that is God’s peace from above, Isa 26:3, “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You”. His servant on the other hand only saw the natural and became fearful and lost hope. His master had to pray for his eyes to be opened to see what Elisha saw. Therefore, let us not begin with see to believe, let us believe that we may see. Prayer is the means of passing from a life of sight to a life of faith, to see by faith God at work behind the scenes.
