Grace To The Humble

Pro 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.

Pride is a very subtle sin. Where pride is, wisdom is forsaken and disgrace is not far behind. There are times we operate in pride without even knowing. When one exalts himself, meaning he excessively has high opinion of self, it is pride.

Those who think they can do it themselves have become slaves to pride. They are unable to receive or ask for help because pride is standing on the way (false humility) 1Cor 10:12, “Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.”

The humble are already rewarded with wisdom because their disposition fits them to receive grace and God’s gifts. They come in humility, they trust in God who is all sufficient knowing He can use the lowly to accomplish His plan. Naaman almost forfeited healing because of pride, its wisdom from others that brought him to a place of humility. “But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”, (Jam 4:6).
