An actor/celebrity decided to raise her 3 year old adopted boy as a girl. She had this say, “…I thought she was a boy too until she looked at me when she was 3 years old and said: ‘I am not a boy!’…”. Then she defends her mothering style, “…They were born who they are and… get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide.” This reasoning is very disturbing, and there are people celebrating her courage and mothering style. She is not the only one with such a worldview, and it’s influencing others. There is a reason celebrities do commercials, they are influencers.
One of the main purposes I believe God gives parents children is to help them discover and become the persons God created them to be. If it is about children discovering themselves, it would be pointless for them to remain with parents after birth. Research suggests that most human brains take about 25 years to develop, though these rates can vary. In teen’s brains, the connections between the emotional part of the brain and the decision-making center are still developing.
So what is wrong with our world today? The spirit of the age. And sad but true, it’s now even influencing many churches. The spirit of the age is a set of ideas, beliefs, and aims that is typical of people in a particular period in history. It is on the increase and we wonder why many children are growing up gender confused, have no order or structure. The proverb verse has one opening key word “TRAIN” not “LET”.
