Phi 4:6 Be anxious for nothing but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, make your request be known to God
This verse has but a simple encouragement, be anxious, nervous, worried, concerned, restless, fretful, fearful, frightened about nothing. They hinder effective praying, paralyzing confidence in Christ. With prayer and supplication, the primary reason we pray is because God is able (God can). This truth combats our frustrations and anxiety, and focuses prayer more on God can (confidence in God) than God will (outcome).
“God can” is the ground we pray by faith, believing God for what we are not qualified for. Mark 11:24“What thingsover you desire when you pray, believe you receive them and you shall have them”. A leper who came to Jesus in (Mat 8) did not come because of Christ’s willingness to heal him but on the grounds of Christ’s ability to heal. He said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” (Mat 8:2-3). He did not say “if you CAN”, that was settled in his heart. “God can” leads to “if God wills” and He does if you can believe. To be anxious about nothing is to be prayerful about everything.
