He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Marks Of Maturity In The Faith

Eph 4:15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

Maturing (perfecting) love is the key to unlocking the doors to all graces. Php 1:9-11, “9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” Paul’s prayer displays the importance and the ground for maturing love. This is beyond warm fussy feeling love, it is growing in GRACE and TRUTH, (John 1:14).

The greater emphasis is the increase in the true knowledge of God. Before we can truly love Him we must know Him. When we know and love Him, we learn to extend that love to our family, brothers in Christ, neighbors and enemies. This perfecting love provides tools to discern true and false. It further provides tools to test fruits and approve what is excellent. This is necessary to growth in purity and righteousness that comes from Him.

This perfecting love preserves to the glory and praise of God, this is how we grow up in all things into Him who is the head Christ. Love without truth hinders growth, truth without love wounds lives. Truth in love blossoms.
