He Has Magnified His Word, Psalm 138:2

Standing In Solidarity

2Ch 20:13 Meanwhile all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.

To stir up their hearts to fervent prayers, men of Judah stood before God with their wives and children. This act was important in 4 ways in my judgement, 1. The men were not afraid to appear vulnerable before their families in seeking help. 2. The presence of their families was a driving force to earnestly pray to God for His intervention. 3. They trusted that the presence of their families would move God to compassion because God has a special heart for women and children. 4. This act was to teach their families of where their help comes from.

To make prayers priority in our lives, there has to be a driving factor. For men, if it’s not the presence of your wife and children, what will? Fervent prayers supply encouragement and strength to those in the midst of trials and delays, and it teaches our children that their help comes from God and not the parents. Parents are but one of the means. It is important not to forsake the family gathering for fellowship, worship and payers especially in difficult times.
